The basis of our energy-efficient technology are modern, light timber structures with excellent thermal parameters, high strength and rigidity. Structural elements are manufactured based on the KVH solid timber and LVL laminated layered timber. Due to their characteristics the materials do not crack or warp, and remain resistant to damage, fungi and insects.
When constructing our timber frame houses, our technology employs eco-friendly and energy-efficient STEICO insulating materials made of natural wood fibres. Their characteristic feature is their complete diffusion permeability, which makes the walls “breathe”, and ensures a high comfort within the rooms and an ecological microclimate. We use over-rafter insulation for roofs, which enables keeping the warmth inside the building and protects against strong wind.
The applied materials effectively isolate the exterior walls and the roof in the winter and protect against external heat in the summer, which results in significant savings on heating and cooling the building. Energy-efficiency of our buildings is confirmed by the low heat transfer coefficient of U < 0.14 W/m2K.
Houses built by Ecologiq using prefabricates have a technical wall at the inside of the structure, which allows tight arrangement of utilities — the electrical system, the water supply and sewerage systems, alarm systems, etc. Active vapour barrier film ensures that water vapour is correctly blocked during changing temperature and humidity conditions inside and outside the building. As a result, the entire structure of the building is permanently protected against damage caused by moisture.
